Kostas Chrysogonos was born in 1961 in Serres and grew up in Thessaloniki. He received his law degree from the University of Thessaloniki in 1983 and was awarded a doctorate from the University of Hannover in 1987. In 2003 he was unanimously elected professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Constitutional Law. He has also taught at the National School of Magistrates, the Hellenic Open University and as a visiting professor at the Universities of Regensburg and Hannover. He is the author of about twenty books and more than one hundred scientific studies in Greek, English and German. He is also a frequent contributor to the daily press and an active lawyer.
